This summer young adults will travel by bicycle across North America to raise funds for and awareness of affordable housing efforts. Along the way, Bike & Build participants will stop in hundreds of communities where they will meet with local residents, give presentations about housing issues, and build affordable homes with local housing groups. Bike & Build participants are thrill-seekers with adventurous spirits and involved citizens with tremendous hearts. Each cyclist has made a commitment to help build affordable housing in his or her community, and to address the problem throughout the country. In the months before the trip, participants work with Bike & Build and community based organizations to learn about affordable housing issues, help construct homes, and prepare for the journey.

From summer 2012:
I will average about 70 miles and 43766 revolutions of my tires per riding day.
I am required to have 500 miles in before the start of the trip (with at least one ride over 65 miles and indoor rides don't count). No problem.
